Encrypted Website

To ensure the highest level of security of information passing between our users and the Bank, we use 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption exclusively.

What is 128-bit SSL Encryption?

128-bit SSL encryption is a technology which "scrambles" information while it is sent from one computer to another which prevents the information being viewed by a non-trusted third party.

How can I check if my browser supports 128-bit SSL encryption?

The easiest way to check if your browser supports 128-bit SSL Encryption is to click the 'Login' button on the Internet Banking Login page.

www.aib.ie/internetbanking

www.firsttrustbank.co.uk/onlinebanking

www.aibgb.co.uk/onlinebanking

If your browser supports 128-bit encryption, you will be presented with the first login screen asking you to input your Registration Number. If your browser does not support 128-bit encryption, you will be presented with a white empty screen. You will need to upgrade your browser to a later version that supports 128-bit encryption.

How do I upgrade my browser?

If you suspect that you may be using an old version of your browser or are curious as to some of the different options available to you then we would recomend that you review the information relating to updating your browser in the PC Security section of this website.
