Under the terms of the Government Guarantee Scheme announced in October 2008 there were specific requirements under the corporate social responsibility banner. AIB is required to work with the Irish Banking Federation (IBF) and the other covered institutions to submit a bi-annual report to the Minister for Finance on goals and targets laid down by the Minister in relation to corporate social responsibility. These include goals connected with the delivery of national payments strategy, the promotion of financial inclusion, the development of financial education and the implementation of the next phase of the Government's Social Finance Initiative.
The first IBF report on behalf of members covered under the Credit Institutions (Financial Support) Scheme was submitted to the Minister for Finance on 18th March, 2009. This report was acknowledged and welcomed by the Department of Finance and other stakeholders. The second, third and fourth reports were submitted to the Minister, in September 2009, March 2010 and September 2010 respectively. Copies of all the reports can be accessed using the links on the right, above.
