We are increasingly receiving reports from our customers that they are getting emails or text messages branded as being from First Trust Bank. The emails often ask the person to whom they are sent to click a link which opens a bogus website. The aim of the emails and texts are to encourage Online banking users to give away security and log-in details such as their registration number, PAC or individual codes from their code card.
These emails and text messages are not genuine and most likely fraudulent
First Trust Bank will never ask for your log-in or security information by email or text message. If you receive an email or text message which has any resemblance to what is described above you should not respond to it and we recommend you follow the advice below.
What should you do if you are presented with a fraudulent screen on your computer?
Do not enter any details on the fraudulent screen. Do not select any links.

What should you do if you receive a suspicious email?
Do not select any links. Do not open any attachments.
Delete the email.
What should you do if you receive a suspicious text?
Do not enter any details or reply to the text.

What should you do if you have entered your security details into a fraudulent screen?
- Immediately contact First Trust Bank by telephone on 028 9034 6034 and we will issue a new registration number and a new PAC (Personal Access Code).
- Do not use the old registration number and PAC again.
- Ensure you are using up to date anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall software.
- Once you receive your new registration number and PAC it is safe to begin using Online Banking once more.
Our Email Policy
First Trust Bank NEVER uses email to communicate with customers on security matters and NEVER asks customers to disclose their Online Banking log-in or security details via email.
