60 Plus

Enjoy some real financial benefits when you reach 60

If you are a personal customer who is 60 years of age or over, you can avail of AIB's 60 Plus offer.

Banking Free of Maintenance and Transaction Fees**:

With 60 Plus you receive exemptions on all account maintenance and transaction fees on Personal Current Accounts as follows:

  • ATM withdrawals*
  • AIB Debit Card transactions*
  • Standing orders
  • Direct Debits
  • Lodgements
  • Cheques
  • AIB Phone & Internet Banking transactions
  • Staff assisted transactions at any AIB branch counter or in the Post Office
  • Quarterly Account Maintenance fee, which covers the cost of running your account per quarter.

* Non-euro transactions will attract the normal foreign exchange charges, commissions and scheme fees.

You can also avail of the following transactions, undertaken at a branch free from Bank Service/ Commission charges by advising your branch that you are a 60 Plus customer , and by also requesting the benefit at the time of each transaction:

  • Purchase or sale of foreign currency notes
  • Purchase of foreign currency cheques and euro international cheques
  • Sale of domestic euro, international euro and foreign currency bank drafts.

Share Dealing:

You can avail of a 20% discount on commission above the minimum EUR100 charge when conducting share dealing through an AIB branch. All you have to do is advise the branch that you are a 60 Plus customer at the time of each transaction, and request the discount.

Who can avail of these benefits?

To become a 60 Plus customer, you have to be a personal customer of AIB and be 60 years of age or older.

How do I apply?

Simply call in to your AIB branch and inform us that you are eligible to apply for the 60 Plus benefits or alternatively, you can advise your branch in writing.
