AIB Student Plus Account Offers for First Year Third level Students

Banking Free of Maintenance and Transaction Fees

Other charges still apply.

Banking Free of Maintenance and Transaction Fees does not extend to the following charges:

  • Government Charges
  • Same Day Value Payments
  • Cheques lodged to your account and returned unpaid
  • Direct Debit or Standing Orders presented on your account and returned unpaid

In addition, it does not extend to the following foreign currency charges:

  • Sale of International Euro and Foreign Currency Bank Drafts
  • Non Euro currency card transactions (Purchase and ATM)
  • International payments (inwards and outwards).

Mc2 Student MasterCard

Government Stamp Duty of EUR30 is charged annually per credit card account.

AIB Debit Card

Debit Cards are liable to an annual Government Stamp Duty which is applied in January of each year. Currently EUR2.50 per card applies where the card is used for either an ATM/In Branch transaction or a Point of Sale transaction, and EUR5.00 per card applies where the card is used for both.

Interest Free Overdraft

If you apply and are approved for a new overdraft facility, you'll benefit from our 'interest free' overdraft. You will get an overdraft on an interest free basis up to a maximum of EUR1,500. Authorised Overdraft facilities over EUR1,500 will attract the Bank's Standard Variable 'A' rate for Personal Overdrafts on balances greater than EUR1,500. The current variable Interest Rate is 11.95%.

Loans

Lending Criteria, Terms and Condition's apply. Credit Facilities are subject to repayment capacity and financial status, and are not available to persons under 18 years of age. Security may be required. A typical EUR1,500 one-year variable rate loan to students will have monthly repayments of EUR131.45 Interest Rate 9.45% APR 9.79%. If the APR does not vary during the term of the loan the total cost of credit of this loan i.e. total amount repayable less the amount of the, would be EUR77.40

Interest Paid on Credit Balances

Interest is subject to D.I.R.T. at the prevailing rate (For detailed information visit www.revenue.ie).

Terms and Conditions for availing of eStatements

eStatements offer you the facility to view your bank account and credit card statements online instead of receiving them by post. This service is available to anyone who is registered for AIB Internet Banking.

You will require an AIB Code Card to sign up and view your eStatements on AIB Internet Banking. eStatements are displayed in Adobe PDF format. You can print or save your eStatement using your home or work PC. Make sure that if you do save your eStatement on your computer that it is in a folder that only you can access. It is your responsibility to view your eStatements online. Remember, even if you’re not currently registered for AIB Internet Banking it is easy to set yourself up online at www.aib.ie or by calling 1890 724 724 between 9am and 9pm Monday to Friday. This will give you access to an extensive range of services whenever you want to use them.
