Where applicable, account transaction fees are charged to your account quarterly. The fee quarters end on the last working Friday of February, May, August and November each year. Where currency conversion fees and MasterCard scheme charges apply (Maestro only), they are included in the amount debited to your account for the transaction. Any commission charge will be shown separately.
Other third party charges including local Banks or ATM surcharges may possibly apply to cash withdrawals. These charges are outside of our control and where applied may be included in the transaction value notified by those banks to AIB.
Full details on fee quarters and all the fees and charges that will apply to your new AIB Debit Card are contained in "A Guide to Fees and Charges for Personal Accounts". Foreign currency fees and charges are also detailed in our "Schedule of International Transaction Charges" brochure. Both publications are available from any AIB branch.
Debit Cards are liable to an annual Government Stamp Duty charge which is applied in January, for the previous year. Under current legislation the following Government charges apply:
EUR 2.50 per card applies where the card is used for either an ATM/in-branch transaction or a point of sale transaction and EUR 5.00 per card applies where the card is used for both.
